8 ozs cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 to 1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup whipping cream, whipped, or 1 envelope (1.3 ozs) whipped topping mix, prepared
1 9" baked pie crust
4 cups fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 Tbs shortening
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and almond extract; blend well. Fold in whipping cream. Spoon into pie crust. Arrange strawberries, pointed side up, over filling. Chill.
In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips and shortening, stirrring until smooth. Drizzle over strawberries and filling. Chill at least 4 hours.
