Buttermilk Pie

1/2 cup soft butter
2 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
3 tbls flour
1 tsp vanilla (have also used other flavorings like, pineapple or banana)
1/2 to 1 tsp nutmeg (opt)
1 cup buttermilk
1 8 or 9" frozen pie shell

Mix well, bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes, until nicely browned and knife comes out clean. Very rich, but usually a hit at all gatherings.
